Interview with Ayelen Murano, front-end developer at Zondax, on Beryx's evolution from concept to its final milestone. Discover the journey behind the product's success.

Zondax has been involved in a range of blockchain projects, offering engineering and security services to the industry. With contributions to ecosystems such as Cosmos, Polkadot, Filecoin, ICP, and Ledger, the team continues to explore new solutions of blockchain technology. In this interview, we speak with Ayelen Murano, Frontend Developer at Zondax, about the completion of the final milestone of Beryx.
Q1: Ayelen, can you tell us about your role in the Beryx project?
Ayelen: I am a front-end developer at Beryx. I’ve been part of the team responsible for building the user-facing side of the project, focusing on creating a seamless experience for our users as they interact with the blockchain through our platform.

Q2: What is the objective of Beryx?
Ayelen: Beryx was developed to streamline interaction with the Filecoin Blockchain. Essentially, it provides an API for blockchain interaction and an explorer that enables users to search for addresses, contracts, transactions, blocks, and heights. It also facilitates contract interaction through various wallets, such as Ledger and Metamask, which are widely used in the blockchain community.
We’ve integrated features that enhance the user experience, including blockchain statistics, rich lists, and recent activity, to support informed decision-making. Additionally, Beryx incorporates contract verification, a gas estimator, and various utilities that make it a comprehensive tool for both everyday users and blockchain professionals.

Q3: What sparked the team to create Beryx?
Ayelen: Beryx originated from a grant that Filecoin launched for explorers when the Filecoin Ethereum Virtual Machine (FEVM) was introduced. Initially, it was a simple explorer, but over time, it gradually evolved into a much more comprehensive API and blockchain explorer. One of the key aspects of Beryx is its scalable structure, designed to accommodate growth and the evolving needs of blockchain interaction.
Q4: What does the final milestone of this phase involve, and why is it so significant?
Ayelen: The latest milestone involves improvements such as enhanced statistics and additional features. This marks a critical point in the project as it signifies the completion of the first phase of our work on Beryx, at least for now. Achieving this milestone is incredibly important to us. It showcases the progress we’ve made since the project's inception and sets the foundation for future development. It’s a testament to the team's dedication and a step forward in creating an even more powerful tool for the blockchain ecosystem.
The completion of this milestone for Beryx is an important step in the project’s journey, reflecting its evolution from a simple explorer to a more robust platform. As Ayelen explained, the project’s growth was guided by the need for a more robust tool within the blockchain ecosystem. This milestone lays the groundwork for future development, as Beryx continues to support users in navigating the complexities of blockchain technology.
