LaBitConf set the stage for our side event with Filecoin Orbit at Crypster Club. Nearly 50 attendees enjoyed Web3 talks, games, and Argentine treats like fernet and medialunas. Insights from Filecoin and Zondax made it memorable.
Have you ever been to LaBitConf? If you have, you know it’s one of the biggest blockchain events in Argentina—and that’s saying a lot. Argentina has become a hotspot for blockchain innovation, with a passionate community of users, startups, and developers driving Web3 forward.
So, hosting a side event to kick off this year’s LaBitConf, in partnership with Filecoin Orbit, felt like a natural move. Last Wednesday, more than 40 people joined us at Crypster Club, one of the first crypto cafes in Latin America, for an evening packed with conversation, games, and plenty of good vibes.
The buzz was real, with chats about the current Web3 landscape echoing through the room. But that was just the start. We set up a gaming area that brought a fun, interactive twist to the evening. To keep everyone’s spirits high, we served up coffee, finger foods, pizza and the classic Argentine medialunas with —because what’s an Argentine gathering without some local flavor?
A highlight of the evening was hearing from Aaron Stanley of the Filecoin Foundation and members of the Zondax team. They shared updates on the latest Filecoin innovations and walked everyone through the Orbit program, sparking curiosity and fresh ideas.
And let’s be real—what’s an event without some swag? Attendees left with cool, decentralized-themed goodies: T-shirts, stickers, and even custom-made mates, a nod to Argentina’s beloved tradition of sharing mate.
To everyone who joined us: you made the evening special, and we can’t thank you enough! For those who couldn’t make it, don’t sweat it—there’s always a next time. We’ll keep that mate warm for you!

The new Polkadot Ledger app is designed to easily manage different parts of the Polkadot network, like parachains and relay chain, even when there are updates. It was made as a result of community requests, and it brings together control of the network into one easy-to-use app. It's made to add new features without losing security. We found out that to make something really secure, we had to make changes on the node. Several alternatives were analyzed and each has advantages and disadvantages.
