As 2024 ends, Zondax celebrates milestones like the Polkadot Universal App, Paseo upgrades, and Orbit events. From groundbreaking tools to community growth, we're excited for innovation in 2025!
As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the milestones, collaborations, and memories that have defined this year for Zondax. From groundbreaking projects to unforgettable community moments, here are 12 highlights that tell the story of our journey together.
1. Polkadot Universal App
This year, we joined forces with Parity and other contributors to launch the Polkadot Ledger Universal App. This tool simplifies multi-asset management, bringing all parachains under one app. It’s been a true game-changer for Polkadot users and an example of what we can achieve together.
2. WebHub
Zondax Hub is a dynamic platform designed to empower developers, projects, and users by providing access to both previous and latest versions of hardware wallet apps developed by Zondax. It’s a handy tool for anyone who wants to stay ahead of the game—developers can test out new features early, make sure their apps are compatible, and get everything running smoothly before updates go live.
3. Paseo
In 2024, Zondax has been actively involved in the Paseo Testnet project, focusing on network upgrades, validator management, and collaboration with the Paseo Core Team (Zondax, Portico, R0gue). Our contributions include executing runtime upgrades like Coretime, monitoring the network, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating validator operations. We’ve also streamlined communications, supported new validators through documentation and onboarding, and enhanced overall network stability and community engagement.
Three Wins We’re Proud Of
4. ICP Push Metrics
ICP Push Metrics is a contribution to the IC node that will help developers and node operators to maintain reliable and high-performing infrastructure in the ICP ecosystem. With its focus on real-time monitoring and integration with observability tools, it simplifies the task of ensuring that canisters and nodes function optimally.
5. Ledger & Ledger Live
This year, we rolled out nine Ledger apps, with four more ready to be released in early January. We have also completed three Blockchain Integrations, enabling users to directly manage their assets fully on Ledger Live. Three standouts include the ZCash Shielded App, which lets users manage private transactions directly on their Ledger devices, and our work with Iron Fish to release their Ledger App and DKG—a secure, participant-only key generation method and last but not least, the Namada Ledger App was released earlier this year ahead of the release of the first phase of their Mainnet.
6. Beryx Is a Grown Up Now!
This year, Beryx became a grown up product which we are very proud of. This year, we made several improvements such as enhanced statistics and additional features. This marked a critical point in the project as it signified the completion of the first phase of our work on Beryx, at least for now. Achieving this milestone is incredibly important to us.
It showcases the progress we’ve made since the project's inception and sets the foundation for future development. It’s a testament to the team's dedication and a step forward in creating an even more powerful tool for the blockchain ecosystem. It’s also worth mentioning that both Beryx API and Beryx Explorer were nominated (and won!) in Filecoin’s RetroPGF for Round 1 and 2.
Highlight: We have also worked on the compatibility of more than 20 apps for Ledger’s two new devices released this year: Stax and Flex. This way, users with these devices can securely manage their tokens.
7. Orbit Events Across Latin America and Europe
As Lead Regional Ambassador for Protocol Labs’ Orbit program, we brought communities together in Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Mérida, and Madrid. From tech discussions to local treats like alfajores and chipa, these events reminded us of the power of fostering blockchain communities to strengthen knowledge and development.
8. Speaking at Polkadot Sub0 Europe
Sub0 Europe was a fantastic chance to share our journey with the Polkadot community focusing on the release of the Polkadot Universal Ledger App. Engaging with such a vibrant and enthusiastic audience was truly inspiring.
9. Speaking at Polkadot Decoded
At Polkadot Decoded in Brussels, we were able to speak to the audience just a few days after the Polkadot Universal Ledger App was released and we were able to interact with the Polkadot community in a session held along Parity Technologies.
Three Projects To Look Forward To In 2025
10. ICP Vault
ICP Vault is a highly specialized prototype designed to address the challenges of managing and securing digital assets in the ICP ecosystem. It helps individuals and organizations safeguard their operations, ensuring trust and efficiency in their interactions with ICP's decentralized infrastructure.
11. Polkadot’s JAM
JAM, short for Join-Accumulate Machine, is a project we’re especially excited about. Designed to be the most cost-effective and secure decentralized system, it’s set to replace the current Relay Chain by streamlining its functionalities and removing features like staking and governance. Stay tuned for more updates in 2025 as JAM continues to evolve.
12. Migration Web App
We’ve talked about how the new Polkadot Universal Ledger App is bringing all Substrate-based chains together into one powerful app. However, we are also aware that migrating funds from older Ledger accounts can be a bit challenging with the current setup. That’s why we’re building something to make the Polkadot community life easier: a Migration Web App. This tool will connect to your Ledger device, guide you through the process step by step, and show you exactly which accounts are ready for migration. Providing a smoother, clearer way to make the switch.

Secret Project
As 2025 approaches, we’re thrilled to share a glimpse of something special on the horizon. What is it? You'll have to wait a bit to find out. But trust us, it’s worth the anticipation. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements as we unveil what’s next for Zondax.
Crecimiento Argentina
This August, we had the honor of participating in the Crecimiento Argentina blockchain pop-up event in Buenos Aires. As part of our role as Lead Ambassador for Latin America in the Orbit program, we connected with over 60 attendees, including developers and business leaders from ecosystems like Filecoin, ICP, Solana, and Polkadot. It was a day filled with engaging discussions, collaboration, and a taste of Argentina’s finest—from pizza and beer to alfajores and chocotorta and really cool mates as part of the event swag. The energy and enthusiasm of the community made it an event to remember.
To our amazing team, collaborators, and community—thank you. Whether you’ve partnered with us, attended one of our events, or used one of our tools, you’ve been a vital part of this journey.
As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to keep building, learning, and growing with all of you. Here’s to more innovation, more connection, and another incredible year together. Cheers!
