Zondax Joins Filecoin Orbit Community Program

We are excited to announce that Zondax has joined Filecoin Orbit Community Program, organized and launched by Filecoin Foundation and Protocol Labs.

What is Orbit Community Program?

Emerged from the successful Filecoin Orbit 2021 event, the Orbit Community Program is aimed to garner a global community of Web3 advocates and enthusiasts who share the same vision - exploring the potential of Web3 technologies and advancing the larger Web3 ecosystem.

The Orbit Community Program fosters a niche and welcoming community where the voice of Filecoin, IPFS, and Libp2p can be amplified online and offline through a wide range of organized meetups and events with resourceful information, including community news and educational content.

Zondax’s participation in the program

The Orbit Community Program consists of two tracks of participation:

• Cohorts of Cadets: Filecoin Foundation and Protocol labs selected qualified individuals to work alongside the team and advocate innovative solutions fundamental to the decentralized web. It is designed to be a growing opportunity for any interested community member to become a more active participant in the community and network with other Orbit Community members.
• Spaceships: This track welcomes interested organizations to support the community via showcasing advancements and innovative use cases for Filecoin, IPFS, and Libp2p. In the meantime, Spaceships are also welcome to sponsor conferences, deliver insightful talks at a high level, and introduce new collaborators into the community ecosystem.

As a business, Zondax supports the Orbit Community Program through the Spaceship track. Zondax’s participation focuses on exploring and building innovative tooling on the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM), the system component in charge of executing all actors code. Execution of actors on the FVM (i.e., on-chain executions) incurs a gas cost. We will share more information regarding our efforts on this specific project.

Since Filecoin Foundation and Protocol Labs kicked off the program, Orbit Community has welcomed 27 Orbit members - 13 cadets and 14 spaceships. Zondax is pleased to see our team listed on the program leaderboard as an active member and excited to be a part of the ever-growing community.
